Who We Are

The Hatters Ice Hockey Club is a charter member of the Suburban High School Hockey League (SHSHL) which was founded in the early 1970’s.  The mission of our program is to provide a fun, safe environment to develop the hockey skills of each player while promoting a strong sense of sportsmanship and pride in team and school.

Player Eligibility

  • Must live in the Hatboro-Horsham School District
  • Must be in grades 5 - 12
  • Must be registered with USA Hockey
  • Players of all genders are welcome

Our Teams

Depending on the number and ages of the players registered, we try to field Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School teams. Players in grades 5 - 8 are eligible for MS; 9 - 12 are eligible for JV and/or Varsity depending on skill level and experience.

Schedule and Location

All games, with the exception of a few Varsity games, are played at local rinks (Bucks County Ice, Hatfield Ice, Warwick, Wintersport, Grundy, SkateZone).  Our weekly practices are held at Wintersport Rink where HS and MS each get a full hour ice slot.  HS is Monday nights 7:50-8:50, MS is Wednesday nights 7:10-8:10.  Varsity games are held mostly on Thursday and Friday nights and JV games are normally on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  MS games are held on Sunday evenings. The SHSHL schedule is usually available in mid September.

Fees and Costs

The major factor for determining the per player cost for each season is the number of registered players.  Registration begins in May for the following school season.  Registration is an easy, online process available on this website’s registration page.  We try to keep the fees to a minimum, as hockey is not an inexpensive sport.  In addition to the annual fees, each player is responsible for providing their own equipment including helmet w/ cage, shoulder pads, shin and elbow pads, skates, sticks, pants and gloves.
